I am looking for an alternative camera app for the Pixel 2XL phone. I want something that will let me have more control over the picture controls such shutter speed, aperture, ISO, etc. I am not interested in editing or gimmicky filters. Does anyone have experience and suggestions?
Thanks,
Joe M
The Google cam app is pretty good - surprised that you are not using that... Otherwise, if you have an Adobe account, you can use Photoshop or Lightroom Mobile.
The Camera app has manual controls too. The aperture is fixed on my Samsung phone.
The Lightroom app on my phone has control over ISO and shutter speed. It has grown in features where there can be a log of image control in as the picture is taken and with connected apps.
The Pixel should be able to use those two apps fine!
The Google Camera app (V 8.1.200.352609439) does not show any manual controls for shutter speed or ISO on my Pixel 2XL. At least I have not been able to find any. It may behave differently on some Samsung phones. I suspect that the Pixel 2XL is fixed aperture, also.
I am trying LR. I can set the camera as "pro" and vary shutter speed and ISO. I don't particularly like the LR UI, but I may just need time to adapt.
Thanks
I think the Camera app on my Samsung is a version of Google Camera. It looks the same. Slide the photo, video selector left and "more" should show up. Under that is a "pro" selection.
