Does anyone have any experience with the Smugmug site. A friend suggested that I use this site to store and share my photos. Basically, if you have experience with this site, is it worth the cost?

Thanks!

David

Absolutely worth the cost and quite simple to use. It is very versatile while being user friendly.

How many pictures? How often? Smugmug bought Flickr, where you might look at the free option from Flickr. If you should decide to pay, look at the options and pricing of Smugmug vs Flickr.

I love SmugMug. I have all of pictures on their site. Again I guess it depends what you want it for.
I use it to share all my photos with my family. They can download from the site as long as I have given them the link.
You can set up the site the way you want it. I can also upload to it from Lightroom.

My photo website is hosted by SmugMug.
It’s great for sharing.
You can create private albums to share with just a link fro which the viewer can download.
Easy to use.
Their support is amazing!
I don’t use my account for storage though.
Check my site out in the link below.

I have used smugmug for at least 10 years and like (not love it). One drawnback for me is that you cannot store images in Raw Format, so if you shoot in raw it is not an archival site. If you have Amazon Prime, it lets you store unlimited photos in raw (or Jpg) as part of the service. You can also share photos here but with fewer display/customizations than in Smugmug. I use both

I have used smugmug for at least five years. Use it for pictures of family, vacations, Central Park in NYC, close-ups of flowers, etc, etc. -- organized in folders and sections. I love it. I think my website is inviting and attractive. See allanj.smugmug.com. All for about $40 a year -- a bargain.

I really like Smugmug, great for sharing, stores full size Jpegs, unlimited number. Price is quite reasonable.

Go for it, I think you'll love it. They constantly improve it.
If you change your mind cancel it after one year.

It’s great! I’m in the process now of reorganizing the front end so I can turn on the backend store that’s available. Up to now I’ve used it to interact with clients privately.

Another Smugmug fan. Love it for several years. Early experience with it used their help organization, called Smugmug Hero’s. They were outstanding and very responsive! Beautiful and very professional website presence.

Thank you all for the replies as I knew I would get the best info right here. When the weather warms up in New Jersey and I start taking more pics, I'll definitely look at Smugmug very seriously. Thanks again everyone!
