They don't fall off but they do get frost bite extremely bad and sometimes need cut off, not only ears but tails as well. It happens here a lot in February during calving time.

Just got my electricity on this morning at 2:30 am. It has been off since Monday evening....almost 72 hours. No nothing. Water pipes are frozen, streets are super dangerous. 6 1/2 inches of snow on ground, then sleet on top of that yesterday. Other than that, everything is lovely in Central Texas. Fortunately, this happens rarely......10 years or more. Bring on the 100+ deg. We are ready for it.
