Off camera flash for D500.

This is another item I'm thinking of for later. But, I hope to avoid the flatness of a ring light to make creative use of shadows and depth now. Thanks!

I have a Yongnuo YN565EX. It works with Nikon controller great. Don't need a controller.

You need something... the Nikon D500 doesn't have a pop-up flash, so no IR controller like the others.
(and, yes, the system works very well within its capabilities)

I was just playing with my Godox and not I ed when I changed the lens focal length the D500 told the flash and the flash changed it's zoom setting to mat h the lens focal length. Really nice. And the reason I got the commander like another stated no pop up flash And to controll the flash off camera you need a controller
