Beautiful work. I'm old enough to remember when hand coloring was the only way to have a color portrait. Saw many of them. You would be the world champ of that era.

I used to do it with an airbrush and Marshall's oil colors back then. It wasn't easy and I have a degree in art.

You know, there are programs online that colorize B&W photos. Free.

Yes , I have checked out a few of these programs and the latest PS version has there first try at coloring B&W photos . They all are a joke at this time compared to someone like me and what I can do and many others I know that color B&W Photos . No thanks , I will stay with doing it by hand like I have been doing since 1978 . Thanks anyways

I bet it wasn't . When I first started drawing with color on white hot press boards .Getting the face to look correct was the hardest thing to learn and do . I would imagine it was the same hardness to airbrush photos and get the skin tones correct for faces for sure . I don't have a degree in art , but I had my work sent out and judged by pros and a professional painter that own's a art store in my area helped me with some tips when I first started . Now I get my best training by doing many colorings and once a year I take a colored photo of a lady , make a B&W copy of it , and then put them side by side and I add color to the B&W trying to match every inch of the colored photo until I get it so close the normal person couldn't tell which is which .

Very nice work King. I have liked all your previous work too. It looks like you really got the skin colors of Lollabrigida down perfectly. Something to fine tune might be her hair. Doesn't look as natural as the rest of her (more of a colorizing look). The youngsters hair is fine. But please continue. These are delightful to look at.

Sometimes the B&W photos hurt the quality of the hair and makes it hard to look correct . What you see is what the B&W looked like . I do agree it could of looked much better by the photographer who too the photo. This is one sample of many I have seen in B&W and is one of the reason I don't like 99% of B&W photos . Thanks for you comment as another artist
