Many don't know that the London Bridge actually lives and breathes in Lake Havasu City Arizona. It was acquired in an auction for about 3 million dollars and taken apart block by block, numbered, shipped to the USA, transported to the desert town of Lake Havasu where they reconstructed it on a stretch of land for another 3 million or so. Then they dug a channel under the bridge to connect two parts of Lake Havasu, forming an island of sorts. This was done by Robert McCulloch to help attract people to buy land here. Yes he was the one who built chainsaws and boat motors and other items.
Interesting and nice photo.
The picture is very nice, but the history behind the bridge is fascinating. Do you have any more pictures of the bridge during the day time?.

Not daylight, but different view. I'll look for my daylight photos.
I was aware of the story, but never saw the end result. This is really cool. Great captures. Thanks for sharing.

I’d say “a London Bridge”. Not the one in “London Bridge is falling down.” London has many bridges.
I’ve driven over and under this one. Road to nowhere and unimpressive bridge.
“Until the mid-eighteenth century the Old London Bridge was the only crossing on the Thames in London. It was damaged in a major fire in 1633, but in the fire of 1666 this damage acted as a fire break and prevented the flames from further damaging the bridge and crossing to the south side of the Thames. With its 19 narrow arches, it impeded river traffic and flow. Central piers were removed to create a wider navigational span. Widening and the removal of its houses was completed in 1763, but it remained relatively narrow and needed continual and expensive repairs. In the early nineteenth century it was decided to replace the bridge with a new construction. New London Bridge was opened in 1831 and survived until it was replaced in 1972. It was then transported and reconstructed in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.”

Beautiful shot of a beautiful British-Nevadan landmark
Never thought you'd see those two linked like that, did you

When did you drive under this one? Maybe while under construction before the channel? Yes, not the falling down one, but the other one. Still a case of "Build it and they will come". It's now 50 years since brought here. I'm more impressed by the vision of McCulloch and his reaction to the growth of this city since 1964.
Actually Arizona, but close enough.
