I think a Male Adult Cooper's Hawk came for lunch today.

I am almost never sure about the Cooper's/Sharp-Shinned ID but Lol...he was fairly small so?

Thank you Mike...it was drizzling rain & I suspect he shook off the drops. I got drops on his head in a few pics

Nice catch! I'm with you on the either/or. Size would lean to Sharpie but color looks (to me) more Cooper. Either way, fun stuff, huh?

LOL...Yes! It is a lot of fun! The Raptors are at the top of my list whenever I get a chance to photograph them...just yesterday I saw a Red Shouldered Hawk making a big fuss up in a bare tree top...then fly off with a snake in his talons! Of course no camera on me I was on my way to work. Thanks for commenting sorry I didn't catch that you had visited earlier!... Walt

Nice captures. ID is a tough nut to crack! How wide are those boards? That should give a good idea of the size, which would help with the ID

Well the boards are 8" boards so maybe that does help....I remember thinking this is a small guy compared to the larger adults I have seen...I just love seeing them! Walt
