The Big Snow

Tennessee is not one of those states that routinely has deep snows every year. The last big snow (and yes, 6 inches is considered a big snow here), was several years ago. Here is a shot taken a couple of days ago, the morning of the 'big snow'.

Happy shoveling or wait till it melts.

Most would agree that new fallen snow is beautiful -- so long as you can just look at it without having to deal with shoveling, or driving on it, and the salt solution that is added. I, long ago, lost my fascination with snow.

Absolutely beautiful but so glad I don't have to put up with it anymore

Nice image, Wanda! The tracks are evidence it wasn’t enough snow to keep someone from leaving the house!

I still look at freshly, fallen snow as beautiful, photogenic and interesting. I just hate the prospect of needing to clear it from sidewalks and driveways. On the other hand, I do respect and appreciate the crews that go out and remove it from roadways.

Nice shot, and I know it can make life really difficult for people who aren't used to it

Thanks, everyone for taking a look and for your comments. This snow did not prevent road travel, as you can see from the photograph, only one vehicle had broken through but by noon, this road was mostly just wet. Roads clear off about first here, as I assume the dark pavement holds more heat. That's one of the things I enjoy about Tennessee snows...........they're usually not binding up for road traffic for long periods of time. We have had exceptions, but not a usual thing.
