I just learned that there's a Camera Club here in my home city. They meet once a month and at the last meeting they had about 10 people attending - both P & S and advanced fans are welcome. Think I'll go to the next meeting. Can't hurt and I might learn something too.

Also, check for Digital Photography Meet-Up groups within 10-miles (or whatever) of your ZIP code. I belong to five different photography Meet-Up groups (L.A. County/Orange County), and choose the best destination for any given week-end.

And don't discount the idea that while you're learning from them you may also be contributing as well. Sharing experiences is almost always beneficial in both directions!

Thanks. They only meet once a month so the next meeting is a few weeks off but I'll definitely attend.

Found three clubs in the area - one about 16 miles away and two about 23 miles away. Now, depending upon my schedule and the weather I'll pick one or more to attend.

Camera or photography clubs are a great place to learn and meet people of like intrest. they run a lot of field trips and contest.I belonged to a snall one in high school. Later while working for the studo the owner had us all in the local photography gild. It was for pros only. Later after I moved to where I live now I opened my own wedding studo. I wanted to get into a photo club in a nearby city. I went to one of their meetings and not one preson even spoked to me. I hung around for awile after the meeting and tried to mingle but still no welcome. Needles to say I never went back. I an now the vice pres. of our local Historical society. I always tell our members to go out of their way to welcome any strangers that come to our meetings. Hope this helps.

It does, and thanks very much. Apparently the group is rather small right now even though they've been in existence for a year or two, so I shouldn't have much problem with lack of communication. I'm looking forward to the next meeting in about two weeks.
