If you see a Black Board instead of the mirror, is that bad?

It’s a mirrorless camera. I don’t understand your question. If it’s what you should be seeing through the EVF, you won’t see anything until you turn it on.

If you're pointing your camera at a mirror and see a black board instead, yes, that's bad!

I’m still not sure what you’re talking about. What do you mean by “the send in?”
When you turn the camera on, you should see the rear screen illuminate and you should see whatever it’s pointed at. Unless you don’t remove the lens cap. I’d suggest doing a factory reset, but if you can’t see the screen or EVF, I’m not sure how you can do that. Perhaps someone here with more knowledge can advise.

I dont have that camera, but to get some help you will have to tell more details about the problem you are having. Is it an a7ii or an a7Rii? Is the battery charged? Does it work when the lens is attached?

With a charged battery and a lens on, what happens when you turn it off, wait a few seconds, and turn it on? Any blinking? Error message? Menu or display?

I got a mildly "U" shaped black band across the view in my a7r3 yesterday. It was a hair or some hair-like lint on he sensor. Rocket Blaster fixed it.

There is no mirror in any of the Sony A7 series bodies. They are mirrorless. If you take off the lens and look inside you should see a shinny black rectangle which is the sensor. That is good as long as it is clean and unmarked. If there is no sensor you have a total dud and is probably not economically repairable.
