I am interested in purchasing a camera light to mount on my Nikon D7200 for the purpose of taking videos, both handheld and from a tripod. Any suggestions based on first-hand use would be greatly appreciated. Also, camera settings for inside use for distances up to 50 feet in a fluorescent lighted area are also welcomed. Many thanks.

I have the same question. Every time I look or read about it I come back to the Lumecube choices. Panel Mini, Panel Go and Lumecube 2.0 all have appeal and get good reviews.

I normally don't use a light. A few years ago I was stuck doing a Halloween Haunted House shoot. I had good success with a common LED flashlight taped to my camera! If I was shooting something 50 feet away, I would be testing my high power LED flashlights! If white balance is off, that's easy enough to fix in post.

Currently LED lighting is widely used for video production in both amateur and professional circles. This link shows a complete range of these lights with many choices of light output, size and price.

There are units you can mount on the camera, however, that may result in flat lighting without much dimension and coverage. You might eat to consider a 2 light system with one on-camera ligh and one off-camera on a light stand. This will enable better modelling, less fall of light in the background and allover improved quality.

Have a look at the web page and pick out a few models that you might consider and the post again for further suggestions.

The best lights and setups for your purposes will depend on what you are shooting and what you want to produce.

The one I am looking at to get - https://www.ebay.com/itm/YONGNUO-YN320-LED-Light-3200-5500K-PRO-wireless-control-for-SLR-Canon-Nikon-USA/202170957128?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l9372 - you will still need battery and charger tho.

I used a D7200 for years. For lighting I would use a ring light or a rectangular light with multiple leds. There is a setting on your D7200 that increases the brightness of your shots. I almost always set it on +1 to increase the brightness of your shots especially indoors.

I ordered the YONGNUO YN320 LED Light 3200 5500K PRO. I had gift cards for Amazon and that had free shipping.
Time will tell if I made the right choice.
