Can I please get some thoughts on the color and the lighting for this.
My initial post were too dark

Nice shot! My preference is to capture the birds in their habitat-trees and bushes. If you can wait until the bird is looking at you will result in a better shot! The eyes should be clear and sharp. The color might be brought out in post processing.

This shot- crop out the distracting items such as the other bird-out of focus and looking away. The metal parts draw my eye to them-not good for this image.
Try to tell a story with your image-close-ups of people or critters or landscapes.
