From own experience, could some forum member recommend a quality Ring Flash with a minimum EV of 20.
Will be used on a Canon DSLR.
Thank you.

These days, a ring light like Nicksr has is more usable than a ring flash.
I use the Canon model shown here MR14 EX II. Yongnuo makes a similar model (YN14-EX) at a much lower price. Check out the specification and see which unit meets your requirements and budget.
These are primarily designed for macro work. If you need something more powerful there are other alternatives. If you mention your application, I can suggest others.
Quick replies from Nick, rgren.., Shap, and Jim are most appreciated. Will look into the suggested options except right now I don’t need a studio type large diameter ring.
My intent is to use the on-cámara ring for closeups (nature, people headshots, pets) using an 85mm, f1.8 lens. Looking to spend less than $100, the one Nick has with a 46 GN and 360 deg coverage looks like a winner.
Thanks again.
Ring flash. In certain circles, those diamonds are so huge that when using flash you have to shoot at an angle because of the resultant "ring flash."

I bought a Neewer on camera ring light from Amazon for about $25 to do some macro shots of jewelry and coins. It served my needs very well. Neewer also makes various larger ring lights that can cost up to $125. Amazon Prime has easy returns.
I have the Yongnuo. It has a known issue with the battery door. Nothing bad, just be *very* gentle when you open/close it, because the tiny knobs break and then it won’t close correctly. I bought several backup doors for just this reason.
Other than that it’s a decent unit.
If I were in the market to buy a ring flash (I have three of them now) I would make my decision on what I expected it to do for me based on what I wanted to do with it.
LED ring flashes are the least expensive. They produce an "adjustable" intensity of light. Think of them in terms of a dimmer switch for a light in your home. The LED ring flashes tend to be more universal with limited communication with the camera other than the signal to flash. A handy feature is that they can also be used as constant light source which may come in handy. There may also be a function to change the power level from left to right on the flash.
Tube ring flashes or on-lens flashes are far more expensive and they produce the same intensity of light each time HOWEVER at a variable fraction of time meaning the flash duration is longer or shorter in fractions of time related to each other (1/64, 1/32, 1/16, 1/8....etc....etc.). This is quite handy when using a flash to freeze the movement of a subject. Most also communicate fully with the camera so they compliment each others needs quite well so sync speed and front or rear curtain shutter options, TTL, etc. are fully controllable and integrated. Thus many of these are "camera specific" and less universal among brands.
