Around this time of year, the sun sets over the ocean, so it is a very real and beautiful visual effect. I don't normally capture it in most photographs because any and all foreground/midground subjects are simply just silhouettes. This effect gets into nautical and astronomical twilight here.
Almost? I've actually seen a hard demarcation line as an arc in the sky, not at the horizon.
