Problem with Camera Raw

I can't open Tif files in ACR from Bridge, the "open in camera raw" option is grayed out. It still opens RAW files and jpegs. I have so far wasted 2 hours with Adobe support to no avail. I am running windows, lots of RAM, latest upgrades. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jeff

Just wondering if that tiff file is flattened? I don't think it's meant to open layers.

2nd idea is to use camera raw filter in photoshop. Should be equally useful since you no longer have a raw file. Menu is filter/camera raw.

Third idea, when converting raw in acr in photoshop, do open as object, dropdown bottom right. Then you can reopen in acr with a double click anytime.

Thanks. Flattening was a great thought but didn't help. I already knew about the CR filter. Excellent idea to open as an object in the future.

Good idea. In bridge it is edit/camera raw preferences/file handling. In photoshop edit/preferences/camera raw/file handling. I never knew you could disable tiffs in camera raw.

It's probably because you can only open raw files in Adobe Camera RAW. To open other files in acr open first in photo shop then go to filters and select camera raw.

That is sort of bogus. Bridge>Camera RAW Preferences>see below.

Bob is correct. Simple fast fix to your problem. Bridge>Camera RAW Preferences

Thanks. I had already set preferences. I think that the flattening worked.
