The Mature Coopers Hawk I have been stalking, while she stalked my backyard, and I finally synchronized. I just needed to attend to her before my coffee.
She didn't offer as many varied poses as the juvi I she earlier this week but I did manage a few ok shots of her.
This one is the first I processed from this mornings gift.

Thanks Joe,
She wouldn't turn around for me. 95% of what I shot are her back with her looking to the side or back. I had to sneak around the house for the last 10 shots to get her breast feathers in the image. No place for me to go to get a full front image.
I have a soft spot for beautiful eyes.
Great pic WD.
I think this is the kind of hawk that occasionally visits my bird feeders. I've only seen him a few times, and he never succeeded in grabbing any birds when I was watching, but scared them a bit. All my birds and squirrels are super fat, and would make superb dinner for this fine bird. I have seen him chase a cardinal across the yard into the evergreens, but not sure how that one ended. The cardinal looked faster, and they both disappeared quickly through the thick branches. I wouldn't think these guys are all that good bush pilots, at least compared to smaller tidbits...

A wonderful picture. Your patience paid off!
Excellent - hard to beat shot!
That is awesome. Beautiful thanks for sharing. That belongs in a frame
Great capture, the pose is wonderful. I hope you got a model's release. It doesn't affect the shot but based on head coloring I think she is a he.
