This is a Nikon AF-S FX TC-14E III 1.4x Teleconverter Lens can anyone tell me if this moves "back and forth" when you shakethe this teleconverter.

There is a rattle when you shake the TC, but it does not move back and forth.

There is a linkage which communicates the aperture setting from the camera to the lens. When the converter is not installed, this part is free to move over its range if you shake it. Once installed between the camera and lens, there should be no rattle.

Thanks for posting this. I have that TC, and have used it hoping the "rattle" is normal. Now I know it is.
