Canon is confident about 2021 and the RF system, both for camera bodies and RF lenses. They project a 5% growth in imaging systems in 2021. Demand for the Canon EOS R5 and Canon EOS R6 drove sales for Canon in the 2nd half of 2020, both of which greatly exceeded Canon’s sales projections. Both cameras will likely continue to be hot sellers in 2021. There is more EOS R goodness coming in 2021 that will further strengthen Canon’s market share in the full-frame mirrorless space.

What about Sony's new Sony A1 which is poised to overtake Canon.
We'll have to see if any significant changes occurred in 2020, but the recent 2019 numbers show Canon's camera division is selling more cameras than Sony and Nikon combined.

Their sensors are still not up to snuff.
Canon appears to have trouble manufacturing and delivering the R5 so how do they expect sales growth?

Canon is really stepping up it's game. So exciting and expensive!

Depends on your wallet. I don't foresee the masses spending that much money but , time will tell.
I cheer competition, not brands. Competition will make your brand and my brand better.
I've been a member for some time and have read so many posts about the different cameras & models and how they take such great photos. I understand how important it is to the professional. There seems to be a camera & model, lens combination that does a better job for a specific type of photo (sports, scenery, portrait, etc.). How do you tell which camera, model & lens is the best for the type of photo, excluding telephoto, macro, etc.? The combination matches seem endless.

Marty, the reality is that all digital cameras of 2021 will deliver overall excellent results. As you move into specialized needs (examples: bad weather, low light, high frames-per-second, large buffers, lightning fast AF, video), certain models will be better suited to these needs, but still, most every model from all vendors can be used in nearly all these situations.
Several review sites exist that provide extremely detailed and hands-on reviews of both bodies and lenses. A 'sports model' will typically be exercised and reviewed against this expected usage. Most every other use will be exhibited in the example images, but probably not identified specifically as a 'landscape' model, for example, given all modern cameras will excel at this type of photography.
Most cameras too, especially mirrorless, are no longer limited to just the lenses designed specifically to that vendor's lens mount. Again especially for mirrorless, you should be able to mix n match any specialized lens to the camera body with the appropriate mount adapter.
I certainly hope they all survive, but sales for 2019 may be, strangely enough, due to COVID. Telescopes I am told did the same thing, some even sold a lot of this year's production last year. People at home wanted something new? to do. Combination of something else to do, time to learn, or walking outdoors in relative isolation, planning future travel when this is over, etc., might be responsible. Good news, but reason might be a one off.
Thank you for your response. I kind of thought that was the case.
