When I was living in the mountains of Ky in 1965 we had our mail delivered via horseback in good weather other times it would be by car. The mailman was a WW II veteran who had his left arm crushed in a printing press. Our mail was always on time and we never had to worry about lost mail. The nearest post office was at a place called Pilot (the town no longer exists) Ky.

Great shot and story. Sometimes I wonder if my local P.O. might be using smeting like that. My mail often doesn't arrive until 8 PM so I don't even venture out to get it until the next morning when I get my newspaper. Maybe these 90 year old bones don't like the cold and snow. Bud
