I just shift the easel a bit before putting the paper in.

When I did B&W at home, that's what I did.
Plus up/down & left/right to modify the composition.

Aside from the many good suggestions in this thread, I would add a note of caution. When you add a lift to only one shoe, you're changing the balance of stress placed on the hips which isn't a good thing. Since horizons can be easily corrected in post, that would be a different way to fix the problem.

I once dated a girl with a lift in her left shoe. Her name was . . . Eileen :)

I am happy with all the replies.I have learned a lot and have gotten a lot of good suggestions. My wife and I have been married for some 57 years and she almost always knows when I am using a tongue in cheek thing. Actually she does tilt her pictures a lot but that is also one of the things that makes her so lovable. Also that insole in one shoe is good because it makes her walk in a circle and that always brings her back to me.

Thats why i assumed the op was kidding us. But it makes for a good story. Plus doing something to a spouse without telling them is just wrong, plus do you do it to every pair of their shoes, plus that is just not how our visual and balance system works. Anyone can stand on uneven ground or on a hillside and still take a level picture.

If that's the only way you could keep her. Whatever works.

You two are obviously blessed.

A viewfinder grid you can choose in the menu or level indicators built-in in some cameras are helpful.
With those you just need to pay attention.

Still laughing... Since she has a permit to carry, criticism should be offered sparingly and only when you have sufficient room to drop and roll.

Even if you use the horizion in your camera (I do), The visual affect may through you off. Perspective in the final image may confuse you. I adjust most of my photos to "look" correct which is not necessarily what is true up and down and left and right. One of the most notable photos out there is Delicate Arch in Arches NP. As viewed in nature it is tilted. Most people rotate their photo so it looks level, if there are no people in the photo.
With a riser in your wife's shoe... she is likely to always walk in circles.

That's a great image in it's simplicity and fantastic lighting, SpikeW's wife. Many cameras have a level in the view finder. Try that if it has one. I have a wrinkled retna in my right eye and that introduces a tilt to the view. Had to switch to my left eye for the viewfinder. Luckily for normal vision the brain doesn't pay much attention to the right eye, except for peripheral vision.
