Saw an article on the net about an open source raw editor called Filmulator.
Sounds interesting. Supposed to work with all major camera brands of raw files. Anyone here use it?
If so what is your opinion of it?

It looks like a more advanced version of UFRaw (another open source RAW editor).

I found a link to the Pixls.us forum where they are discussing Filmulator here:
https://discuss.pixls.us/c/software/filmulator/16

Filmulator website with some comparison edits: https://filmulator.org/comparison/

From quick glance, it does do some asset management and is non-destructive, but lacks tagging and some other features. Reading indicates that the creator wanted to design a drastically scaled back program for quick and streamlined edits. So it may be great for casual or minor processing use.

If you do decide to try it out, please let us know your opinion of it.

Not me. Not available for Mac OS. I could probably work on the Linux version and port it to Mac but I'd rather spend my time processing than coding, at the moment. Besides, I already have a RAW processor that works exceptionally well, ACR, if one knows the appropriate order of steps to follow.

While I am extremely happy using DXO Photolab 4, I wish the developers of Filmulator the best of luck with their product. Each new entry into the market has the potential of raising the bar for their competition, always a good thing!

I checked their user forum and there is a Mac version in beta.

At this point in it's development, Filmulator is apparently not s full featured product and appears to be geared more to those with light raw processing requirements. As such, it is probably not competitive with the more advanced raw converters/processors that many of us use as a critical component in our photography.

Mark, actually, my method of producing film appearing photographs is simple. I use Ilford's products. They produce the most realistic film looking photographs out there. Yeah, it takes a bit more work but the end product is what matters to me.

As you said, it sounds interesting so I downloaded the file. Immediately I got a red flag from Windows Defender so I took the prescribed action and made the appropriate report (unconfirmed 581368.crdownloadSubmission ID: 3aaed8d6-c8c5-4e22-8d3c-c7f6df87ee50Status: Submitted Submitted by: noassets@asis.com Submitted: Jan 27, 2021 10:41:50 AM User Opinion: Incorrect detection.
