So if it is arguable whether trump can be impeached as an ex president .
Then he should be arrested by the DOJ and charged, indicted and tried under the law:

18 USC Ch. 115: TREASON, S******N, AND SUBVERSIVE ACTIVITIES

”””””Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any r*******n or i**********n against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the ...“””””

https://uscode.house.gov/view.xhtml?path=/prelim@title18/part1/chapter115&edition=prelim

Doesn’t seem complicated.

I would think trump should be happy it is the impeach approach.- as should his supporters as it seems the lessor of the potential punishments .

Or as his ex personal lawyer believes trump may have already issued secret pardons to himself and family + Rudy

Thus Leaving impeachment as the only avenue to Justice.

The predictable thing about Trump is that he will serve his own interests above all else. Rule of law, ethics, right and wrong, morality, love of country, integrity do not have a part in his mind set.

Before I retired from air force I witnessed that first hand for decades on the East cost.

If you actually think about it, Trump was impeached on January 13th, 2021 in the House of Representatives.
He was still President at that time. It is the Senate trial that is being held now, not the impeachment.

The Article of impeachment will be delivered to the Senate tonight.
Too bad the spineless Republican Senate won't convict the i**********n inciter. Even though Mitch told the world that Trump "provoked" the attack on the Capitol on J****** 6th.

I think it is cleaner and more appropriate for him to be arrested , indicted and tried in federal court for violating the quoted USC code.

What exactly was the 'incitement' for your fauxsurrection that rises to the level of violating 18USC115? Can any of you cite in plain English the actual 'words' or deeds that fomented such pearl clutching?

"...against the authority of the United States..." Since President Trump was 'the authority of the United States' at the time are you saying he caused an i**********n against himself?

Aside from Trump’s innocence or guilt—are you saying that a sitting President cannot incite an i**********n simply because as President he is the existing authority?

That makes just as much sense as the rest of it. I notice you didn't really answer the question: "What exactly was the 'incitement'"?
