Pixma Pro 100 or 300. And Mac OS
When I read the literature about the new Canon PIXMA 300 and 100, it would appear that they promote its compatibility with Windos based operating systems but make no mention of compatibility with Macintosh. Does anyone have any experience using this combination before I go out and buy a printer that would be problematic?
Have never had a problem with the Pro 100 and Mac.

Good info, Thanks! If given the choice, would you upgrade to the 300? Do you use it as a wireless printer?
I've had no problems using the Pixma Pro-100 wirelessly from a Mac.
Sorry, but I'm not familiar with the imagePrograf Pro-300 (nor the Pixma Pro-200 which appears to have replaced the Pro-100.)
I'm not sure you can buy a Pro-100. They appear to be discontinued at regular retailers. It seems to be replaced by the Pixma Pro-200 for the Canon dye ink version. Isn't the imagePROGRAF PRO-300 the new dye ink printer?

That's correct
I searched very hard for a new pro 100. I found a few on amazon or ebay but for the price I could buy the new pro200. I have no need for the pro300 and dye inks because I dont print enough to not worry about head issues. Last I looked 3 weeks ago cannon in Canada had a pro100 but then 2 weeks ago it was gone. The pro200 is 599.00. Not sure what you are really looking for. The 300 I am ignorant of basically. I do know for sure the pro 100 and 200 both work with mac according to the cannon website.

The cleaning cycle is longer wasting more ink when I hit the power button, but it is going to do a cycle every time you power it up anyway.

I have 2 PIXMA Pro 100s and 1 PIXMA Pro 200. I run them from an iMac and a MacBook Pro running Big Sur. They are wonderful printers.

For the Pro-100, if you disable Auto Power Off (which happens automatically if you connect via WiFi) you can minimize the ink consumption resulting from a power on event.
In that event the printer will go through cleaning cycles when you signal it to print. There are various levels depending on how long since the printer last printed. The shortest cycle is 60 hours. If you print at least very two days you won't get a cleaning cycle.
Conversely, if you power up, print, shut down and then power up one hour later you will get the same startup cleaning cycle.
I use the Pro100 with both Mac and Windows, no issues.

Same here, since 2013, through many OS updates/upgrades.
The Pro 100 is discontinued. I just purchased the Pro 200 and I love it.
