I have hundreds of shots of unusual dead trees and bushes.. I don't know why, I never do anything with them...

I guess that I'm oddly attracted to these shapes and stark lines.. well done

Hey ej. I'm gonna just tell you right out that that ain't no peach tree. At least it ain't got no peaches on it. It's peachy alright but only as a philosophical endeavor but not peachy in color, hardly. Old bare trees sometimes bother me. I've been thinking that most trees look good with leaves. There's a nasty ol' tree up in Wyoming just south of Laramie about 30 miles that scares the waddin' out of me every time I pass it at night. I guess spooky things bring out the kid in us. I was driving into Laramie one night from the campground, rounded a curve, and my headlights hit that dang tree. I'm tellin' you.

That's a pleasant scene you have there. A place where a person could probably take a nice nap, or maybe a picnic and a nap. I can't blame you for taking a picture of it. We're having a lot of discussion about all our different monitors and how our pictures look on 'em. When your image hit my monitor, I looked at it and couldn't figure out quite what it was that made me think there was some red in the sky. I pulled it in and did a little auto-levels adjustment but I'm betting that when you see it, it's gonna look a little green to you. Tell me what you see when you get it back.

I like what you did. It's brighter and more green. I guess it is the spookiness about dead things that attracts some of us. Also the dead beside the living sorta natural in the grand scheme of things. Life goes on. Thank you.

I shoot dead but colorful leaves too. Some how pulls at me. Profile is at a cemetery. I'm not weird just thought it was a beautiful and peaceful place.

I sort of thought that you might be in an old cemetery there. Thought that thing stickin' up out of the ground looked like an old headstone. Well, maybe you're just getting tuned up for Halloween. It's coming soon. Now, go take some more good pics and let us see some more.

I think I can see her if she's a brown and white boxer. This is a good shot. The color is good, not red like the first one and it is clear and focused well.

ej...hope you don't mind that I have added one of my photos..don't want to be accused of hi-jacking your thread...but wanted some help with this photo..have posted original and my two edits with paint.net..

I am not real happy with the tangle of brush to the left of the base of the tree..nor with the cedar (not so much as the brush tho). How is the crop? better or worse than original? I did clone out some power lines, a truck at the intersection and some road signs...I like the BW better than the color...it was a grey, overcast spring afternoon..no color to the sky at all...tried getting some blue in there on the color edit...my hubby said it reminded him of a hanging tree. appreciate comments and fixes...Linda

ej...love this shot of your boxer...they are wonderful pets and best friends...I had one that looked amazingly like yours..had to have him put down when he was 10 yrs old. A pack of coyotes got hold of him one night...just couldn't save him...I sure miss my "old PuP".

I like the bare tree, but also wondered about the red..the tree bark is sorta reddish, so wonder if it is somehow a reflection off the upper branches of the tree...Have you tried it in BW? It might look good that way as well...peaceful scene...need a blanket and picnic basket...! Again thanks, for letting me post on your thread...Linda Morton

I have been to the Blue Ridge only once, and could see why it has that name...every thing has a misty blue quality to it...Beautiful...your shot is nice, a little eerie feeling, but understandable...Wonderful place to watch the sun rise for the day...! Linda
