Nice work my friend. You were awesome even that many years ago. I haven't been out any lately. With the Covid crap going on it makes it hard to figure out if games are postponed, cancelled, moved etc, so I haven't been out. This next week I am going to go shoot something. One other thing GO CHIEFS!!! Looks like we have Mahomes back, not sure how the toe is though. Some of the sports guys on tv are saying they think Buffalo will win. I think Chiefs will be fired up and they have so many damn weapons on offense. I am hoping though. Thanks. Be safe and enjoy your Sunday!

Tom

Nice. I love the closeups of the refs. Critical to the game, but too often ignored

Shooting XC last fall in a shortened season, I made an extra effort to capture the coaches. Created a special section on my team gallery just for them. They seemed appreciative.

Nice photos. One thing I learned a few years ago about refs show up in these pictures. The refs keep their whistle wrapped around the finger that corresponds to which down it is. First down around the first finger, etc. That way they don’t lose track of the down. I may be the only sports fan that didn’t know that. But if not, well, now you do.

I didn't know that, and with all the years I have been shooting and following football. I am embarrassed.
Thanks for the information. Be safe.

Morning Tom:
Go chiefs, go Bills, I just want to see a good game. Mahomes is something special, may be the game changer.

There is more to the story I found out. Sometimes the ump or center judge (in college) will wear a second band and loop to indicate where the ball is spotted after an incomplete pass. In college you can have 5 spots; left and right hashmarks, left and right goal post uprights and center of the field. The ump may use that second strap for one of five fingers to correspond to ball placement positions.
In the NFL, the hashmarks are much closer together so there are only 3 ball positions.
Just found this out today. So there you have it.
