A while back I asked for help in doing composite images. As usual many of you responded with suggestions/recommendations. Well, I thought you might enjoy the fruits of your (Our) labors. This image was a synthesis of two taken in the same area on two different occasions. I still need to work on reducing minor selection fringing but that will come in time and effort. Any comments/recommendations are very welcome.

Great idea, nicely executed.
Very good! I was just viewing some videos online about how to do astrophotography without fancy equipment or post-processing software. This sort of picture sets me to thinking about trying that out.
Thanks, you should have been there. Quiet, a bit breezy off the high Rockies and just me.
Thanks, you will not be disappointed for trying. This was done with regular DSLR, a good piece of glass, Photoninja (Darkroom is a pretty good free raw processor alternative) and GIMP. You just have to go out, shoot a lot and adjust as necessary to get what you want.
Thanks, wish I could spend some time in your area but life has gotten in the way.
