Very good approach... I use my internal SSD as working space. When I’m done, projects are stored and backed up on two external drives.

Then I zap the files off the internal SSD. Lightroom catalogs follow the projects.

As long as "YOU" are satisfied....! Very good...indeed !!!!!!!!

Thanks,

My only wish is that 20TB NVMe drives were tiny and cheap, and part of every Mac... (Dream on, right?)

I back-up my production computer to my 12 TB QNAP RAID-5 NAS, which backs up every Sunday to an external RAID-5 USB-3 box of drives. I don't have off-site storage - so if the house burns down, Sux to be me. Otherwise I feel fine.

Boone,
What is it you are asking? Put data files you want to keep (photos or not) on an external and don't clutter your internal with unnecessary stuff. If you care about backup (and it is not clear from your post that you care about that at all) backup the external to another drive. OnOne is non-destructive, so you are good. You seem to be making this more complicated than it is. Keep it simple.

I kind of see why admin moved this to chit-chat.
