The attempted i**********n and actual desecration of the Capital in J****** 6th inspired by the words and lies of Trump about the e******n probably triggered the sad, embarrassing lockdown of D.C. What were the leaders to do? Risk more bloodshed at the hands of Trump guys trying to take over the country?

Even Mitch admitted that the attempted i**********n was "provoked" by the President.

How is this attempted i**********n different than the many we have seen on police stations, court houses, Wash DC itself, the Supreme Court, and the White house, outside of the fact that nothing was burned down, no statues were toppled, there were no weapons used, and no attempts were made to k**l police officers or other officials?

To begin, this i**********n was provoked by a sitting President, and resulted in his impeachment.

Other than that, don’t play dumb.

It seems that some folks just can't adjust to the fact that Mr Trump is a provocateur of violence and civil disorder. I hope and "pray" that his trial in the Senate will result in his conviction and is followed by wh**ever it takes to assure that he can never again hold any federal office. We must excise this cancer on the body politic.

The attack and desecration of the Capitol—the invasion into the Senate chambers, crapping and urinating on floors, the stealing, rummaging through desks, all these acts and more are not even remotely comparable to anything else in history. But the Trump guys bend over backwards to rationalize the depravity. Sickening.

Sacrilegious is it? I thought we were not a religious nation. That is the people's house and those people who work there are not any more special than us. In fact they work for us. Beyond that, how is this any more heinous than the Democrat r**ts which saw 23 people shot dead, over 700 police officers injured, over 150 Federal Buildings damaged or destroyed, and billions of dollars in damage to businesses?

• Trump's words to conclude his speech, "I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard."

• Trump never advocated entering, much less taking over, the Capitol building and always explicitly opposed violence.

• The charge that he “incited” the r**ts only refers to his peaceful exercise of free speech, denouncing the e******n of 2020 as the result of fraud and saying that it was “stolen.” That is the essence of free speech that is protected by the First Amendment.

• Impeachment is a vengeful kick while the President is down. A purely symbolic act, removal from office is a logistical impossibility now. Yet, they speak of a trial in a few months! What kind of depravity would you call this thinking?

Not to worry as it will be explained in detail. Somehow it is quite likely that even then you still won't get it.

Maybe you should write a letter to Mitch and straighten him out.

Yup. Sure do.
When you get alt right d******c t*******ts threatening your government- ya gotta do it.
Did yIa forget Germany @ 80 years ago?
This time, four years, and they fell back.
Will we prepare for a new seasoned onslaught in another four?
Or are we going to sit back, "we won!" and just go on.
