In the road

This is the third or fourth time I've come down this street and found Vultures feeding on road kill. Each time I've thought damn I wish I had my DSLR. Yesterday I decided to use the camera I had with me, my iPhone 12 pro. Not the best pictures I've taken but at least I got a picture.

Like they say, the best camera is the one you have with you. I have to say, that's one ugly bird.

Not ugly, well designed for its task. When was the last time you saw a garbage truck driver dressed in a Tux?

I quite agree, Jack! The black vulture, like the other vutltures, is a good and useful citizen and, as you say, is perfectly dressed for the the service it renders. That featherless bare head that some consider ugly is far more easily cleaned up than would be a feathered head after having been thrust into a carrion carcass!
