Good Day for BIF

A trip to the local Audubon sanctuary on a cold day turned out to be a so/so for general birding, but good for BIF. I didn't expect to see the Great Blue Heron still around when there was snow on the ground, so that was a nice surprise. There were a number of Hawks in the area, which I believe kept the smaller birds out of sight.

Clark, Excellent BIF shots! The female northern harriers are some of my favorites. We get a lot of them in Utah as well especially in the winter.

Thanks, Steve. Around here (Massachusetts) I have not noticed all that many Harriers, which made this shot so satisfying. The only other one I had been able to capture was down at Bosque del Apached in NM, which is much closer to you.
