Older photos, I think the year here is 2000. We were in Alaska at Homer Spit. This was an incredible place. There is a spit of land (long narrow length of land into the bay.) at Homer which is about two miles long. At the end there are several fishing boats you can rent, some tourist shops, and flight seeing companies. While on the spit you could look around a full 360 circle to view the mountains on the other side of the bay. Beautiful place. When the fishing boats come back they clean the fish, and at that time (I thing regulations have changed) they would clean the fish and throw the scraps into the water. The Eagles would wait for this and pick up the scraps, often catching bits mid air. This is where I took these photos, the Eagles here were very tolerant of people and getting photos of them was easier than most places.

Excellent series whatever the Year!! On one of our trips to Alaska we stopped by and camped at Homer Spit...think it was about 1989. Anyhow, a woman was walking her two little Yorkies off a leash and a Bald Eagle came by and snatched one...never too be seen again! Glad we had a big chocolate Lab!!

Nice catch, Beautiful photos.
Most fisherman around here do like wise. Its reprocessing the waste, sorta. I don't mind until the floaters drift in on the tide and get stuck behind my dock
Thanks to everyone for the kind words.
