a fun place to shoot and visit, kathy...great job on the shots! that slide looks like it would be a fun and challenging
trip all the way down!

Thanks, Marigean. I think so. I tried to find a picture of it from before, but I guess it wasn't important enough to photograph. I remember being afraid to go down the slide. It was SO high. And this one is a LOT higher!

Thanks, Merlin. Here's their website where one can get the permits: http://rubyaz.com/
And here's another with info: https://southernarizonaguide.com/a-trip-to-the-ghost-town-of-ruby-az/. This one has a picture of the slide!

That slide almost looks like a piece of mining equipment. I enjoyed seeing these.

It was likely fashioned from mining supplies!

Ahh - - although we'll be passing through Flagstaff later this year - reservations are too tight to permit a day-trip south as we are taking the Grand Canyon Railway north to see the big ditch

You will love the gully. Say hello to my heart when you get there. I've never ridden that train. They tell me it's a beautiful trip.

And ended up in Ruby! It's a ghost town - an old mining town very active in the 20's and 30's. What's fun is that they haven't "rebuilt" anything, but just left it. Most of the buildings are open and can be investigated. If they're unsafe, then they're posted. One can drive to a lot of the stuff, and walk to the rest. I'll make several posts, but I'm going to do some of the buildings first.

Very nice set! Interesting story behind the location, too. Thanx for sharing.
