I believe I read that the Sony E 4.5-6.3 70-350 G OSS cannot be used with a teleconverter.
True/False? Comments.

Unless it’s made for that lens, it won’t

Did you read it on the Sony website or the bathroom wall of UHH?

According to PC magazine...not compatible.
Sony page leaves the tele categories (both 1.4 and 2X)category with a ( - ) ... so I guess that's a no as well.

There can be several reasons why lenses are claimed not to be compatible with teleconverters.
Sometimes the rear elements of the lens would come into contact with the front elements of the teleconverter. Nothing you can do about that unless your planing on shooting macro (extension tubes between lens & TC).
Sometimes the TC is specifically designed to be matched with a small number of lenses. In a few cases the manufacturer will include a modified mount to make it impossible to mount other lenses on the TC. I have heard of a few cases where this OEM feature has been disabled making the TC more universal (obviously invalidating any guarantee).

Modern TCs are often designed exclusively for long lenses, while legacy designs (like most of mine) are universal.
