A couple of days after a small snowfall, the Sun was up and I took a short trip to a local site that I find attractive.
Exercising a 14mm manual Samyang lens on the Sony. I did not remove the electric wires in these shots, since I was having issues with the ON1 software cloning/spot removal tools... most likely operator error!
Last few shots with the "kit" lens.

Nice shots. It's good to see these examples as I plan to get the Rokinon version of this lens. I'll be using it first on my Nikon F100 film camera and then the Nikon D750 or D780 which I hope to have soon after.

I love the perspective and incredible depth of field you get with ultra-wide lenses (everybody should have one). I previously had the Sigma 15-30mm zoom and shot that mostly at the 15mm end.

Very nice, clear set Ours, love the snow with the blue sky - something we have only seen for one day so far out here - not that I am terrible upset about it ....

Really nice. You are correct in thinking of removing the power lines. I use On1, too. The cloning and erasing tools take some getting used to.

Yes - this is an amazing lens for the price (I think the Rokinon is just a re-labelling of the same optics). I find that it is a bit soft at the edges below f4, but is a really fun lens to use. I am used to a 10-20mm on a crop sensor, but this lens seems to let in more light. I am really enjoying it. Thanks for looking in and for the positive vibe.

It is fun, for sure, you have to be careful of not overexposing the snow. I have been out taking shots in the snow with overcast skies, and am enjoying that too - I shall be posting some shortly. Quite a different "look". Thanks for looking in and for the positive vibes.

Yeah, I tried with PhotoShop as well and ended up abandoning the idea. Must have been a "bad line day". I will try again sometime soon. I need to up my game with that sort of processing, but principally working on getting to know the new camera for the moment. We are locked down again here in Ontario, there will be a grey, overcast miserable day sometime soon which will encourage me to smarten up my cloning and clean-up processes. Thanks for looking in and for the positive vibes.

Thank you kindly. We have not had a lot of snow here, so I was glad to get this opportunity. Thanks for the positive input.

Nice. It seems to handle the twigs against the clear sky pretty well. Is that a FF lens or APS-C? I have the Rokinon 12mm f2.0 which is APS-C but I would like to change to a FF near equivalent for astro / night.

This is a ff lens on a ff sensor. It lets in a lot of light, I think you would like it, but if you are using an aps-c sensor, you will not get the same AOV...

Thanks for looking in and for the positive vibes.

Thanks. Yes it would be for my A7Riii. I have been using the 12mm f2.0 on my A6000 and my A7Riii but I'm loosing a lot of pixels and only get 18mm AOV.

Thanks for the positive vibes and for looking in. It was a lovely day and I found a nice spot to check out this lens and camera combination.
