How do they not hit each other?
Quite a photo of what I assume are Snow Geese and Ross's Geese. Love to know where you saw this huge flock. We see both species here in SoCal, but usually in 2's and 3's, though I've seen the big flocks (not this big) in New Mexico. Enjoy the photo, including the quote. Have a great day.

Thanks Jak. They are Lesser Snow Geese. 150-200,000 of them spend the winter here along the southern
BC and northern Washington state coast. Some of the gatherings are huge and if you stick around, will repeatedly
suddenly take off, circle and land in the same area. This time they were in a farmer's field right next to Robert's Bank tidal salt marsh in Delta. Won't be too long before they leave for the return flight to their summer home on Wrangel Island in the Arctic
