Excellent image, the road is gone.

Thank you very much, Mike. There is a gravel road that leads past these buildings about 20 feet to the left of the photo. The town has been abandoned for a number of years, which makes for a number of good photo opportunities there.

Good shot, Cotondog! Interesting information as well. An imperial gallon is about 4.5 litres. That works out to roughly 13.5 cents a litre (liter for our American friends). Speaking of Trudeau's conversion to the metric system, I have to tell you a funny story. In early June 1975, a buddy and I were canoeing way up in NW Ontario. One day we came up on a remote fishing camp that was being used by a group of Americans. One of them saw us and invited us in for a cup of coffee. He was alone, as his buddies were out fishing. At one point during our conversation he asked, "What kind of weather system do you have up here? This morning we turned on the radio (Kenora) and the host said it was 9 degrees. My buddy shouted out "Holy s**t, build a fire, it's freezing out there." I went outside and it didn't feel anything like 9 degrees."
Good shot, Cotondog! Interesting information as we... (show quote)

Thanks, GreyOwl. That is a good story. I have another. My wife and I were camping in the States a few years ago and someone came over. Can't remember what State he said he was from, but he was a nice guy. Said he would like to take a trip to Canada at some point and asked how he could line up a team of dog sleds at the border. He was amazed when we told him that there was no need to do that. Just continue driving in your vehicle to wherever you wanted to go. I don't know if he believed us.

I really like it. Makes me wonder what the story is. Bypassed, because a new road was put in...?

Thank you, TommyII. The town just eventually died out. These small towns begin to fade away when the post office closes, or when there are not enough students to keep schools open. Other businesses shut down, then people move away to bigger centres, etc. Pretty soon, it becomes a Ghost town.

Could it be 60 cents instead of 80? It appears and left side of the number doesn't "indent" as would an "8",
but curves over as one might see on a "6". Boy, if there were ever an important criticism, this has to be it! Maybe
I should go find something useful to do today!
