I have a compact flash that I came across, All it says on it is 2GB. I'd like to know the write speed.

It's not going to be anything worth considering for 'speed' use'. I opened my desk draw where, for some reason, I still have an 8GB card marked at 30MB/s and a 4GB at 15MB/s.

Before I retired I used old slow cards to transfer files from one system to another or to give files to some one. I paid for them, I am going to get some kind of use out of them.

New ones are quite fast (typically faster than the equivalent SD) and not that expensive ($27 for 32GB): https://www.adorama.com/us%20%20%201349487.html?gclid=Cj0KCQiA9P__BRC0ARIsAEZ6irj4ERMma9oW5cNumTl0GfwBOwW7bBfeDzAvu2UXMzIRKNhCBgEXn9gaAi4pEALw_wcB&gclid=Cj0KCQiA9P__BRC0ARIsAEZ6irj4ERMma9oW5cNumTl0GfwBOwW7bBfeDzAvu2UXMzIRKNhCBgEXn9gaAi4pEALw_wcB&utm_source=adl-gbase

It is probably very slow as it is an older compact flash card. Speed is expressed in Megabits a second, or MB/s'. There is also a read and write speed, if they are not printed individually, then they could be the same. I would strongly suggest getting a newer one, they are not expensive and will probably outlast you.

An edit to the previous reply from my self. All I want to know is there a way to plug the CF card into a card reader and see the write speed.

I haven’t tried it, but since it shows up as a drive letter, any of the usual hard disk speed test tools should do it. They typically do writes and reads of various file sizes, so just pick one that corresponds to your typical image size to get an idea. Here’s a list of 8 popular free ones: https://www.geckoandfly.com/23934/ssd-hdd-effective-read-write-speed/
