Dilapidated Old Dock

I have passed this dilapidated old dock so many times and have "pre-visualized" (to use an Ansel Adams term) what I could do with it. While driving back from shooting some wading birds this afternoon I just had to finally stop and shoot it because the light (overcast) was perfect for what I wanted to do with it. The reflection in the very still pond makes the image perfect.

I started educating myself on the Zone System in 1984. I have perhaps 2 dozen of his books, including the 3 volume set, The Camera, The Negative and The Print, which I have read cover to cover about 4 times. I still shoot film and still use the Zone System in my previsualization, exposure, processing and printing. It can be used to a limited degree with digital as well.
