These images were taken during our walking tour of this most picturesque town. Fortunately we had some sun so the colors look good - especially in download. For an historical narrative on Kilkenny, please see my previous post:

Apologies for the double post, but my big fingers mistakenly hit "send" before adding all of the images. I hope you enjoy these.

As always...great !!
I love Smithwick's !!
Pro Tip :
First time in an Irish bar, be it there, or anywhere. order one, and call it in the proper dialect,
Smid-icks !!

Thanks very much Steve. We had our first Smidicks at a great seafood place in Dublin as suggested by our waiter and I ordered it with the correct pronunciation several times. Guinness was not to shabby a second choice!

Yup....gotta have some Guinness first...but, it's a sipper, not a quaff like Smithwick's !
Was at Nora Murphy's in Brandon, on the Dingle Peninsula, for lunch...said hi to a couple of gentlemen....went out, rode a bike, took copious pictures, a nap, a shower...went back at 7 for dinner...yup same gentlemen...on Guinness #3 ???
Pub life !!!
Again, thanks for your tour !!
Steve

Interesting set. I especially like the pictures of the colored door. I see a few here in America but we need more.

Thanks so much Annie. Apparently the tradition started in the Edwardian Era when houses all looked alike. The colored doors allowed inebriated Irishmen to find home easily if the house numbers appeared blurry. I agree that they would be nice here.
