Went out looking - D7200 with AF S Nikkor 200-500 5.6E ED. Found an Eagle relatively close, but the light not quite so favorable. I probably would have been a little better off with the 600, but the 200-500 is a lot more pleasant to handle.

One of the things I've learned from the Muench webinars, is how to lighten selected portions of an image. I do it in LR. Do you have that?

Thanks! I do very little post. I have several kinds of software, but don't enjoy using them. Because of the position of the bird relative to the sun there was no way to get a better exposure. I'm often more fortunate, but take what I can get.

Thanks very much Sylvia. There is one shot where I'm sure he was wishing I was very small!

Thanks, Chief. We do have the Goldens as well and they are even larger.

Have you tried fill flash?

Otherwise, nicely done.

Thanks - private property at a pretty significant distance. I have used fill flash on small birds at close range, don't have a flash that would reach out that far.

Nice eagle shot QD but a lot of detail lost in the body of the bird.
