Although blacks2 has made 6 sets of this beautiful garden, and others have also posted, I visited it in 2007 and thought I’d give it a try. Although I’ll give a few shots of the wide view, I’m going to concentrate on photos of individual details. (Note: in 2007 I wasn’t doing much PP, so I know improvements are possible.)

I enjoyed this wonderful series. We were there in the 90's, and these brought back some great memories of the trip.

Beautiful, inspiring set! Beautiful part of the world!
We had planned on visiting there in 2014, however the British Columbia Ferry's changed their schedule... I had to change several reservations as a result, including a trip to Butchart Gardens.
I think the yellow flower (#3) is a celosia flower, the pink (#4) looks like a begonia, #13 is known as a Peacock Orchid - Gladiolus acidanthera (it's not an orchid).

I could have gone there coming home from an Alaskan cruise for my 50th birthday, but went looking for orcas instead...came THIIIIIS close to getting seasick in the choppy rainy bay/ocean. Alas not a bird much less a whale. I'd made it up on an earlier humpback cruise earlier in the week though. Got to see a 'bubble-feeding' feeding frenzy (neat You-Tube videos of it! only took pics of it myself, but it was impressive. I think it was near Juneau, but don't quote me on it.

On my second tour of Alaska, it finished with a cruise on the Baronof Dream, a small ship. Leaving Kake, Alaska we encountered a large pod of whales that surrounded the ship, some coming within 50 feet. We stopped and spent more than an hour, just watching the whales. There was a lot of breaching, but I'm too slow and never got a picture of one (I got a lot of tails in the air, though).

Check out my FB pic of the bubblenet activity. The pics are on my old laptop so I might have one or two that are better (breech, etc) http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=591849634170225&set=p.591849634170225&type=3 - I hope it works
