Perhaps the last in this series. Tonight (really tomorrow morning as the moon is rising around 6am) only 3% of the moon, which is a barely perceptible sliver, is supposed to be showing and there is a possibility of clouds. I will most likely go out anyway but I am not all that confident I will be able to get the shot I want, time will tell.
The last one, which is 8% showing is actually 30 images stacked. Because the moon is getting so dim, I had to go to 800 on the ISO and down to 1/100 on the shutter speed. Stacking a large number of images reduces output noise which gave me more headroom to do any post processing.
The original image is almost 20,000px wide, and the sharpness does not suffer from downsizing and re-sampling like it does here, so I may get it printed 20x30, trim it down and mat and frame it.
Very interesting work. I admire your patience. Thank you for sharing.
