Hello fellow UHH members. I have a question concerning the Godox Propac PB 960 power source. I recently was given two of these units and also two AlienBees flash units (see the attached photos). I would like to take the AlienBees out on location and have them powered by the Godox Propac PB 960 power source units. I'm not sure what cables to connect them with or even if it is possible. Could anyone with knowledge of these two units share with me what to buy? Thanks!
I don’t think you can. This battery is made for the godox 360.
If you want an external battery for your bee I would check Paul buff for vagabond power.
The Alian Bee in your image unit has no provision for battery operation. The specification shows the power requirement as 120 Volts, AC, 60 Cycles- basically, household current. Battery operation would require a voltage inverter to convert low-voltage battery energy to the prescribed current requirements.
The Godox unit in your question is designed to deliver battery voltage and current- probably 5 Volts to a Speedlight with a port to accommodate the appropriate cable. It may be adaptable to other than Godox speedlights via a different adaptation such as a cable that has a replacement for the 4 AA cells that are needed in many stand-alone flash units. The voltage would be the same as the 4 AA cells but with high ampere/hour capacity enabling more flashes per charge, more consistent recycling times, and no need to replace or recharge batteries as often during a shoot.
Those are great power packs- it pays to get one of the betterGodox units such as the "Striplight" or the ones marketed as Flashpoint. Those have over 300 watt-seconds at full power, user interchangeable flash tubes and interchangeable reflectors plus enablement of bare-bulb usage.
Here's a link to the Godox site with all the specifications and a selection of cords and chargers.
