1/8/21 came to the feeder around noon. Just had a sec to shoot.
The two books i have gave no help.
Can you help?
Solid pale yellow except ting of brown on wings. Would say about 4 1/2” long.
Could it be a yellow house finch?
Looks more like an orange-crowned warbler (which is uncommon) as opposed to a pine warbler (which is common.)

Looks like a Finch, to me.
I think so myself based on body and size of beak. Hope she comes back for more poising.
Thanks to all who provided an opinion.
It’s always fun for me to know who the little fellows are.
I think the good Lord put these wonderful little creatures on earth so we may enjoy and marvel at his work. I know I always feel that way.
Thanks
Yep, female Painted Bunting. Note that she is eating a millet seed, their favorite.

Looms like a female painted bunting. Be on the lookout for the male!

Hope she tells her mate about your buffet!
It's a female painted bunting, no doubt. Wait around and the male will show up, they send the women in first to see if it's safe.
Just a hint:
When you find yourself wondering: “What is this little bird with absolutely no distinguishing marks- a light brown, tan, to yellowish brown birds with NO eye rings, moustachial or supraorbital stripes, no spots or streaks in the plumage, no light throat patch, no wing bars or tail bands - in other words a totally undistinguished looking little jobby - start thinking that you are looking at a female bunting- indigo or lazuli! Amazing how often you’ll be right!

I agree, female painted bunting. They are easy to miss in the book, the male is so bright you tend to not see the female. I did the same thing I saw this bird.
