Yes, Looking for a cheaper way to get 9 fps from my D850. I'm looking for users that have successfully found a work around. Please no links as I have seen them all. Looking for real experience only. And yea I know already, why try to cheap out, well $15,000 already invested in Nikon equipment I would like for once to save money. $1,200 to get an extra 2 fps is Nikon doing the old reach around.... I can do that myself..... Not to mention I'm putting the saved dollars towards my 3 week vacation coming up soon. Thanks, Martin..

I purchased a Vello BG-N19-2 Battery Grip for Nikon D850 ($75) 3 years ago along with a Wasabi Power Battery for Nikon EN-EL18 ($46), Wasabi Power Dual Battery Charger for Nikon EN-EL18 ($63), DSTE Replacement for BL-5 Battery Chamber Cover Compatible Nikon D800 D800E D810 D500 D850 EN-EL18 Li-ion Battery ($10). Total outlay $194. Couldn’t be happier. Works great and was so pleased I bought a Vello grip, chamber cover and another Wasabi battery for my D500.

I use the Nikon Battery Grip with my D 850 and successfully use the following:

Watson Duo Charger from B & H with Watson EN-EL-18C battery - $198.00 for both.

I bought an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) Nikon BL-5 Battery Chamber cover on ebay as they were on back order at B & H - $38.47 delivered.

When charged the battery shows 99% in the camera and appears to provide the 9fps.

Thanks. I've found used Nikon D850 battery grips in excellent condition around the $250 price. Have been looking at the new Watson 18C replacement batteries and charger as my set-up. That's still $600 plus in savings. I'm guessing you don't do much wildlife or ever actually use camera at 9fps??

Yes. Works as well as the Nikon OEM grip is advertised at a significantly lower cost.

Why would you choke over relative pennies to get the extra when you already have that large amount invested? I bought the extra Nikon Grip and battery to discover I get much longer shoot times, a better camera grip and controls, the 9 fps PLUS here's the biggie... the extra power has actual improved and sped up the focusing response. Across the board it was worth the extra bucks. I also went from a SB800 Speedlight to the SB5000 and my lighting experience also improved notably.

I have also had great experience with the Vello grip and Wasabi Battery. I did not need a battery chamber cover.

Agreed. Who in their right mind thinks two more FPS is worth $1200 ?

When did Lake Placid move to Florida ? Were the taxes too high up north ?
