Requesting a Referral or Procedure to add Clouds and/or atmosphere to a photo

Hello All,

I am seeking either a procedure or possibly a suggestion on where one may get info on how to add clouds and/or atmosphere to a photo. I'm sure many of you have seen advertisements from various outlets (e.g. Matt kloskowsk, Serge Ramelli) but are their any other way to add clouds to a photo. Is there any YouTube suggestions to add clouds to photo that is easy to apply and not time consuming.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Best Regards,
Red Baron

If you have an app that might be appropriate to do just that, then simply do a search on Youtube and see what they say. If you are looking for advise on what app to get that does this, then that's a different question that you might want to ask in another thread. I've seen hundreds of youtube videos on how to do this using Photoshop. That's the app that I use so that's what I looked up on Youtube.

LUMINAR has a tool to change your sky. It offers many choices or you can download from the web. They also offers sky packs for sale

Use Luminar 4 or Luminar AI.

You need an editor that does layers, masks and selections. Which probably limits you to about a million editors.
Then, you need to learn to use those tools. The same tools are used in about every photo editing session, so they are worth learning if you are a photographer..

Which of the zillion editors to use is pretty much based on what you wish to spend. Gimp is free, Affinity Photo is $50 one time fee, and Photoshop is $120/year. PS and Affinity are about the same, Gimp supposedly is as well, but I never used Gimp myself.

I use Luminar 4. That having been said, I replaced the sky on images 10-15 years ago with either PS or PSE. I use Luminar now because it seems to do the best job of identifying the area we call "sky". And remember, you can use your own sky images you may have taken yourself, not just the prepared skies included with the software.

Luminar AI is very easy to use and not too expensive. It can do a lot of regular processing/adjustments but it is especially good at sky replacement and for portrait shots. You can buy additional sky-packs or build up a library of your own skies to insert. It will adjust the the lighting to suite the selected sky. You can also insert clouds, birds, moons, sun rays etc. Supposedly they will be coming out with an upgrade that will add reflections of the sky elements to water etc.
I processed this (before and after) by experimenting in about 20-30 minutes from first downloading the software with no previous Luminar experience.

Here is the procedure:
1. Buy Affinity; cost now is about $49.00,
2. Buy a book (or two, three) on Affinity and read it (them), and learn the MANY available techniques,
3. Practice with the program to find out which technique solves your problem.
Replacing objects is one of the most valuable features of a PP program to professionals.
Your question asks for an easy one (maybe two) click solution to a very sophisticated procedure.
At preset, there is no 1 (maybe 2) click solution to this problem.
Another way of saying this is, "there ain't no free lunch ". It takes time, energy, money and dedication to
acquire knowledge and skills.

Actually, the sky replacement functions in both Luminar and Photoshop 2021 work pretty well with a couple of clicks - surprisingly well, even.
