p.27 I see "Warbird" ! Do you have any idea how fast the ball was going? Just curious These are wonderful.
Not particularly fast, but fast enough to cause damage to the camera, lens and myself if things went wrong lol.
I had the shutter open for point five of a second for the "tails'' following the ball
as it entered the left of the frame and then hit it with the (built in) flash, set to rear curtain,
to get the sharp image of the ball in flight. It took me about ten attempts to get the two
frames.
Shot with my old Nikon D700 with a pre digital f1.4 50mm AF-D lens.

Minimalist? I'm wondering about the last one - repetitive shapes, warm hues, no frills or clutter
Nice shooting on the last frame.

When I see an off white balance... I just can't help but fix it...
while I was at it I massaged the light levels too.
Hope you don't mind.

About that... it was about 6 years ago I did that work... may have been 12 frames.
I'm a regular Ebeneezer when it comes to shutter actuation's. Possibly
a hangover from shooting film.

Nice pic of Aluminum Overcast. I got a ride on her a couple years ago on the last day of Oshkosh. Humbling to get a taste of what the teens and 20-somethings used some more than two decades before I was born - we weren't shot at, though so it wasn't quite the same experience (thank God). Doc (the B-29) had only one seat left, but it was over $1K - bombardier's seat and couldn't afford that. Seat's were normally pre-sold weeks/months in advance of the flights because they're so popular. At just under $420, it was still a financial stretch, but WWII aircraft are expensive to maintain and are getting rarer by the year. Some day I might spring for $2-3K for an hour in a P-51 or P-40...maybe after retirement.
