Guess I should have looked at these a little closer before posting, not so good looking in the morning light

Nice shots, even the gulls if that's what they are. The water is very blue in the first shot. Did you alter the photo in any way or was it just like that?

It was very bright out of the camera. It is a pretty blue lake, but I do think it is a bit overdone... I use Picasa and I used the shadow tool, trying to tone down the brightness, but I think the pelicans just got brighter, LOL. Think I should have looked at it again this morning

I didn't understand most of what you said because I just use the aim and shoot method and then use a programme on my computer to brighten/darken or increase/decrease contrast and sometimes improve the colour. I like it best when I don't have to do anything. I know my camera can do a lot more than what I use it for.

I have the same problem when I upload photos they look different than they do on my monitor.

You may need to calibrate your monitor.

I like all three of these. The geese are great, the gulls make a pleasing image; however, the one that really grabs me is your first image. . .not so much the pelicans, but everything else. If this were my image, I might take out the birds and go with a stunning fall landscape?

Nice work.
