I have been struggling to make Photoshop Elements 2020 work with my gmail account. If I understand the problem, Google does not "trust" PSE. I could change my Google settings to trust all less-trusted apps, but Google doesn't recommend that. Instead, Google recommends setting up an App Password for the less-trusted application. The question is - how to do that in Adobe PSE? I have searched Adobe, but no results. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
I'm not sure why you are trying to make using PSE complicated. Once installed and registered, it should simply start and let you use it.

PS Elements 2018 and earlier required no password to use the editing software. Are you trying to send photos via Elements and gmail?
.
I wasn't clear in my problem description. I am trying to configure PSE to use gmail as my email client, so I can send fotos directly from PSE. Using the File-Edit-Preferences-Email option. PSE allows the user to specify the email client, profile name, email account and password. (Default is Outlook, which I do not use). There is a Validate button, which instructs PSE to try the email account to confirm it can get access. PSE rejects the gmail settings, as if the pw is wrong. However, when I open gmail after trying the setup, Google informs me that an untrusted app has attempted go access gmail. So, my problem is how to make PSE a Google "trusted app," so Google will allow access. Thank you.
Ah, that is a bit different than I understood the issue. Again, the most straightforward solution is to save the photo then email it as an attachment.

Yes, that method always works. Just tying to be lazy and omit a few keystrokes! Thanks
Go ahead and set-up an app specific password. I have several email accounts, including several different Gmail accounts, so I use Microsoft Outlook to keep them all straight. To use Gmail with MS Outlook you need to use app specific passwords. I have used Gmail this way for many years, despite getting doom and gloom warnings from Google about every 6 months, about "security issues". I have never had a problem. Just be sure to use strong non-guessable passwords.
I will evaluate using Outlook with Gmail. Thanks!

Try Firefox.
Firefox is a browser.
Thunderbird is the Mozilla email client.
I'm with everyone who suggest just saving your photos and then sending them as attachments, but, then again, I don't use PSE's organizer; I continued using my own file system that I started before using Elements.
Your file system - do you use a windows directory structure, or?
I think you missed my point. Google want's everyone to use two factor identification for all of Google, including Gmail, YouTube etc. Programs like PSE and Outlook are incapable of providing 2 factor id, so they need to create an application password in Google settings to allow them to access Gmail. It is the same way the iPhone mail app accesses Gmail, and yes Google is constantly reminding me to use their Gmail app on my phone.
My point was it's ok to go to your Google settings and set-up an application specific password, for PSE to access your mail post-office to send photos.
