Eisenstadt, Austria in 2012 – Part 2, the Haydnskirche (Stations of the Cross)
In 2012 the college chorus I sang with made a concert tour of Europe, which included German, Austria, Czech Republic, and Hungary. One of the places visited was Eisenstadt, Austria. It is the southeastern part of Austria and prior to 1921 was part of Hungary, and seat of the Eszterházy noble family. In Eisenstadt we toured the Schloss Eszterházy and the Haydnskirche. This set is one of 2 featuring the Haydnskirche, aka the Bergkirche (because itwass built to resemble a mountain). One major feature of this facility is the tomb of the composer Franz Josef Haydn, and another is a series of dioramas portraying the Stations of the Cross. Part 1 is the church itself, and Part 2 is of the extensive displays of the Stations of the Cross located there. (These photos have not received post-processing.)

Great workmanship.
I agree. Those dioramas are at least 100 years old.

All marvelous, but that shot of the golden altar is in another world

Thanks, Joe! I'm sorry I didn't record just what "Station" was represented by each place. I'm not Catholic and it wasn't that important to me.
